KCW Juniors Update: Juniors Play at Home While First Team Defeats Seattle Sounders FC
 
(April 16, 2009) – The KCW Juniors U-13, U-15, and U-16 teams played at home this past weekend while the first team traveled to the “Emerald City” to shutout the previously undefeated Seattle Sounders FC 1-0. The KCW Juniors U-13 team recorded 1 win against KCFC Academy after battling back from a 2-0 score at halftime. To compliment the shutout win by the first team, the KCW Juniors U-15 team continued their play in the Midwest Regional League with a 6-0 win over the Kansas Rush.
 
The U-15 team travels to Omaha, Nebraska this weekend for Midwest Regional League games while the U-16s go to Hebron, Indiana for three matches in the same competition. The Wizards first team will visit the Chicago Fire this Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. CT match on Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Sports en Español.
 
The Wizards next home game comes Thursday, April 23 at 7 p.m. CT against the New York Red Bulls. The game will mark the first-ever trip for an MLS match to CommunityAmerica Ballpark by ESPN2. The first 5,000 fans into the stadium will receive a Jimmy Conrad bobblehead, and all fans will receive thundersticks, both courtesy of Time Warner Cable. Wizards season ticket holders will also be able to collect their 2009 Kansas City Wizards scarves that were included in each season ticket holder package. A B2 Bomber from Whiteman Air Force Base will fly over the stadium before kickoff, and four racecar drivers including former Indy 500 champion Dan Wheldon will be on hand to sign autographs before the match.
