The Chicago Fire’s Chris Rolfe scored a hattrick (all in the first half!) and the Fire rolled to a 5-2 win over the New York Red Bulls. The result means that the Wizards have now qualified for the 2008 playoffs. The only question is whether KC is 4th in the East or the West (like last year). The easiest scenario for KC to be 4th in the East (and thus playing Columbus) is to win or have DC lose/draw on Sunday.
NY can still make the playoffs but they need DC to lose or draw. DC can only make the playoffs with a win.
So, now that KC will be in the playoffs there is the news that Josh Wolff may not be able to play. Bob Rusert is reporting that Josh Wolff has a “…fibular stress reaction in his lower leg.” Almost a stress fracture. Coach Onalfo is optimistic about his return though.
