Kansas City Wizards Acquire Allocation Money from Chivas USA for Midfielder Sasha Victorine
(September 15, 2008) – The Kansas City Wizards traded midfielder Sasha Victorine to Chivas USA Monday for allocation money. Victorine, a nine-year MLS veteran, has one goal in 16 games (12 starts) this season. He will be making a return to Los Angeles after playing his college soccer at UCLA and spending five seasons with the Los Angeles Galaxy to start his MLS career.
“We would like to thank Sasha for his commitment to the organization and professionalism during his time in Kansas City and would like to wish him the best of luck while with Chivas USA,” Wizards Technical Director Peter Vermes said.
Victorine, 30, joined the Wizards from the Galaxy in a draft-day trade prior to the 2005 season. Overall, he scored 13 goals and recorded 19 assists in 106 games (96 starts) for Kansas City.
