Kansas City sign Josh Wolff

From Bob Luder at the KC Star. KC has signed Josh Wolff.

…to a contract that runs through the 2009 season, with two option years after that.

Quote from Wolff :

“I’m excited to come back to Kansas City. (The Wizards) have had a rough stretch. But when you have quality like they have in Claudio Lopez and others, it takes some time to adjust.”

So, he’ll be here this and next season, then some options.  KC still though needs a target forward or Ivan and Scott need to step up.  Then again, I guess it all depends on how Josh is used.  If KC stays with 4-4-2 then it will probably be Josh and Scott up top.

I really want to get excited about this aquisition, but it’s a bit tough. He has been pretty average in Germany and hasn’t been playing forward at all. He’s not a target striker by any means.

Still, with Claudio moving back to midfield (which I think is a good move), we’re left with Sealy, Trujillo, and Pore. That’s not good.

Wolff has to be an improvement….right?

Yes, I agree he’s an improvement. And it seems he’ll be here for a few years.
I think he’d work perfectly in a 4-3-3 or a 3-4-3 (if we can run a decent 3 man back line)
