Wizards eager to get back on winning track Grathoff calls the formation 4-3-3 and even jokes it could be 4-2-4 if Davy pushes up
So, about the game. Here’s part of a Press Release the Wizards sent out. There’s to be road work done on I-435 near so plan accordingly when coming out to CAB.

KC Wizards Info in St Louis Post Dispatch I know most of you don’t wish to read about the St. Louis Cardinals, so I’ll post the relevant Wizards stuff. It’s at the VERY bottom if you wish to read the article.
- The MLS Kansas City Wizards are planning “St. Louis Night” in KC on Saturday, Sept. 13. That day, the Wizards will host David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy. And a St. Louis vs. KC Reunion Game is being planned for earlier in the day. It will feature former players who played professionally in the two cities. Some of the former St. Louis players who have committed to participating include Daryl Doran, Ty Keough, Tony Glavin, Steve Pecher, Mark Santel, Mark Fredrickson, Denny Vaninger, David Brcic, Pat McBride and Joe Reiniger. If you want more information, call St. Louisan Brian Roth, who works for the Wizards. He can be reached at 913-387-3839.
Happy Birthday Ivan Trujillo
Ivan Trujillo turns 26 today and he’ll be starting at forward for the Wizards. His last start was the game in Salt Lake where he was subbed out at halftime. His last goal was in the USOC which propelled KC into extra time with Colorado, he scored 4 minutes after coming on a sub. He also added a PK in the PK-Shootout. He has just one MLS goal and that was in the season opener against DC United. It was the first ever goal scored at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.
After starting the first two games Trujillo has seen less and less action. He averages just 42 minutes a game. Ivan has only gone 90 once all year. He is more or less proving to be the player he was last season in Colombia – one that comes off the bench late, though here in KC he’s only provided spark once off the bench. Hopefully with today’s start he can provide a birthday present of his own to KC with some goals – or at least one. Please. (*note-Ivan and Scott combined for several goals in preseason)
Kansas City Brass
No report on USLSoccer website but I am hearing that the Brass led Des Moines early but fell to them 2-1. It’s possible that both Menace goals were from the penalty spot.
Edit: Here’s the official word. Brass all 2-1 at home. KC are 4-1-5 and still 5th in the Heartland Division. Sunday’s opponent, Colorado, play at Des Moines today.
KC’s USOC opponent, the Carolina Railhawks, won at 1-0 home over Portland in USL-1 tonight. Carolina are undefeated at home this year boasting a 3-3-0 record in USL-1 play. They also have two other home wins from the USOC First and Second rounds, both 1-0 victories.
