Meet Lopez and Trujillo; Weekly Update

On Tuesday after practice at Swope Park the KC Wizards will make newly signed strikers Claudio Lopez and Ivan Trujillo available to the media.

(March 17, 2008) – The Kansas City Wizards begin training in town Tuesday, March 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the team’s Swope Park Training Center. Newly signed forwards Claudio Lopez of Argentina and Ivan Trujillo of Columbia will be available to Kansas City media members for the first time immediately following practice. A translator will be available for English-speaking media members, as both Lopez and Trujillo speak limited English.

For the rest of the week, here is their training schedule:

Tuesday, March 18
10:30 a.m. CT; Swope Park Training Center
 
Wednesday, March 19
10 a.m. CT; Swope Park Training Center
 
Thursday, March 20
10 a.m. CT; Swope Park Training Center
 
Friday, March 21
10 a.m. CT; Swope Park Training Center

KC will play in Norman, OK this weekend.  The first team will play against Real Salt Lake and after the reserves will play against Southern Methodist University.  The game is dubbed the Saturn Challenge Cup and takes place on Saturday starting at 6pm.  KC won this game over FC Dallas two years ago.

Don’t forget about the Meet-and-Greet at Dave & Buster’s this Thursday.  Event starts at 5:30 for Season ticket holders and 6:30 for general public.  There will be a NCAA basketball bracket contest for an autograpahed Kerry Zavagnin jersey drawing.

Also single game tickets to Wizard’s games are on sale now through the Wizard’s website and Ticketmaster.  This does not include the LA Galaxy game.

Now, if only we can find out the final roster of the team.
