Wizards: “Meet and Greet”, waive local Raybould

KC will host a Meet and Greet on March 20th at Dave & Buster’s at The Legends in KCK.  It’s where KC had a pre-season event in 2006 – Preki signed stuff.  Pretty good event.

Here’s the Press Release:

The Kansas City Wizards will host a meet-and-greet event for players, staff, season ticket holders and other fans Thursday, March 20 at Dave & Buster’s at The Legends in KCK. The event will start at 5:30 p.m. for season ticket holders and open to the general public at 6:30 p.m.

Fans will be able to compete against and with players at various arcade games and compete for prizes. Mark your calendars for March 20; further details will be announced in the coming weeks. All available players will attend the event.

One player taht will not be available is local Ryan Rabould.  KC waived him today.

Again, here’s the Press Release:

The Kansas City Wizards announced today that defender/midfielder Ryan Raybould has been waived. Raybould appeared in 19 matches (10 starts) over three years with the Wizards and recorded three career assists.

Ryan is from KC and went to High School at Rockhurst.  Ryan later attended Yale University where he started all 4 years and was captain his Senior year.  Also Ryan played for local PDL (Professional Development League) team, the Kansas City Brass.  He played three seasons with them before joining the Wizards.  Last season with KC, Ryan appeared in 10 games and started four of them.

Waiving Ryan will make roster trimming a little clearer, but not by much.
