On Saturday night the Kansas City Kings of the PASL Midwest division defeated the Springfield Spirits in what turned out to be a close match. KC won 16-14. The Kings trailed 0-4 after fifteen and then 2-4 at the half. But the third period was all the Kings needed. The Kings busted out to a 14-4 lead and were also up 16-6. Springfield made a game of it in the final 15 minutes but KC held for a 2 point win and a trip to Fredricksburg, VA.
The PASL 2008 Winter League International championships will be March 14th and 15th. There are at least 10 teams from the 10 divisions in the US. There will also be some teams from Canada and Mexico – this per Kings GM Brian Budzinski.
In attendance at the Kings-Spirits game last night were members of the Cauldron. The Cauldron is a fan section for the MLS KC Wizards. They were very loud and supportive with drums, songs, and chants.
For some Wizards news. When KC travels to Norman, OK on March 22nd to play Real Salt Lake, Wizards fans will also be treated to a Wizards Reserves match against Southern Methodist University. Here is the story. At about 4pm there will be some local youth games, KC vs RSL will be at 6pm and then the Wizards Reserves will cap it off at 8pm against SMU. Should be a fun night.
KCSoccerReview Calendar will be updated.
